With only a pen, paper, and tomato-shaped kitchen timer, he organized short study sessions to help him track time on tasks and improve his concentration. I just wanted a simple to the point timer app that had pre-programmed alarms. Runtastic Timer had promise but it has not been updated in years and sometimes the timer would reset in the middle so it was useless in the end. ![]() Before this I tried over 10 apps and all of them sucked. I know this sounds trivial, but for ME this simple app has helped me tremendously with a better quality experience with the RR. I used to have a problem where I would day dream too much or go over/under many times. During during workouts am more focused on my form since I don't have to worry about the time in the back of my head. Most importantly, since I have full control by the second for the alarms now I can FULLY RELAX during my rest. I set my rest alarms a little shorter as you need that extra 10-15 seconds to move to and setup the next workout. I am finally able to do the RR to a consistent ~1 hour and 5 minutes (FYI, I do not do the Skill Work) compared to the 1 hour and 20-30 minutes before. Super Rest: 2:20 Minutes, Boxing Ring Tone Rest: 1:15 Minutes, Boxing Ring Tone (This puts me in mood to start next work out with full motivation/excitement.) Here are my pre-configured alarms that I use: There is also a setting to prevent phone going into standby. Then you can create several pre-configured alarms (with custom labels and colors which helps me since I try to do RR quickly) and also have control by the SECOND and can use various alarm sounds/tones. ![]() My main issue with it has been that I hate the built-in iOS stop watch/alarm because phone goes to stand by mode too fast (I like this normally so don't want to change it due to nosy people) and especially you can't set an alarm for 90 seconds.Īpp I use now is Timer+, the free version: You can run multiple alarms at the same time so I like to always use stopwatch to time my entire RR from start to finish. I have been doing the RR for little over 4 months now.
